I have always been told, and believed, that tough times only make you stronger. I do really think there is truth to this. I also believe that the good Lord does have a plan for us all. That it’s not my place to to question his will nor plan.
Tough times comes to us all, no matter where one stands on the social or economic ladder.
I am grateful for what I have, I am in a better place than I was just over a month a go, no doubting that. Yet tough times still persists, both economically and socially. I have seen people in my immediate circles do things that just boggle the mind and makes me question why. This occurs to the point of both physical and mental detriment. To the point I begin to question is this really better than what it was?
I don’t know why God has put me in this position, an old fellow that used to give me a lot of guidance used to say “you are there for a reason, a purpose, and God will let you know when the time comes. You may touch someone’s life in such a way that will change them for ever – and you may never even know.” I do pray that this is true, and if so I can bare it.
Honestly, right now these are very tough times for me in all areas of my life. And truthfully I am getting tired, mentally and physically.
It’s been a very long while since I updated here. I am sorry for that. But I am sure you know how life can get at times. It’s been a summer of changes, that’s for sure.
I had 5 days of racing around the 4th. The Friday before the 4th I shot the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model event at Cherokee, then followed the tour to Wythe Raceway. I recommend anyone and everyone that likes dirt racing to make the trip to Wythe, it’s a great place to see the racing.
Then on the 3rd I shot the BEAST series at Cherokee.
My next event will to be cover the Carolina Clash at I-77 Speedway in Chester S.C. I have driven by the speedway a few times but haven’t been there for a race. I am really looking forward to it come Friday the 14th.

All practices are over. I will have the fastest in Nationwide and Sprint shortly.
Danica did earn her Darlington Stripe in both her Nationwide and Sprint cars. Neither one was bad. No incidents to speak of. Everyone was clean (except for a few new stripes).
As they say: It’s a big big day today.
First up is NWS practice, then two rounds of Sprint Cup practice, NWS Quals, Sprint Cup Quals and then the Nationwide VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200.
Wanted to get up and get some shots of the sunrise, but missed that this morning. There is always tomorrow. I still haven’t gotten in my head where I want to start shooting at. Usually I have an idea of where, but this morning I just don’t yet. I still have time, photographer’s meeting is at 8am and by then I should.
The media center is starting to fill up. They have us photogs out in two cargo containers that have internet. Some how I feel like a red-headed step child, banished to the back table at Thanksgiving. Oh well, it is what it is.
Hopefully will be able to give updates through the day.
